10 Fall Organizing Tips

Fall Organizing Tips

I LOVE the Fall weather when the weather cools off and the leaves start turning and the sun isn’t quite up when I get up in the mornings. Do you know that for most people this is the second most productive period of the year? New Year’s is the most productive and Fall is next. Here are some of my favorite Fall organizing tips:

  1. Start shopping for your Halloween costumes while there is a large selection available. If you’re making your own shop for the materials that you need now and get started.

  2. Get all your Halloween decorations out and throw away or give away anything that is broken or you no longer want to use. You might want to start looking for replacements now.

  3. Clean or wash all your summer clothes and accessories and switch them out with your Fall and Winter clothes, shoes and accessories. Decide if you need any new coats or boots for the winter.

  4. Start using your indoor exercise programs such as yoga, treadmill walking or running or any home workout programs you use on DVD or online. You can begin rotating them with the outdoor workouts now until you have to move all of them indoors.

  5. Go through all your emails including the archived ones and delete all that aren’t relevant or important to you anymore. Want more information on organizing your email? Check out this post that I wrote earlier this month: https://cherylosler.com/five-ways-to-organize-your-email/

  6. Replace the batteries in all your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in your house. I do it when we fall back and go off of Daylight Savings time.

  7. How about all those recipes that you’ve collected? Go through them and get rid of any that you didn’t care for or that you have second thoughts about trying.

  8. Organize all of your summer photos and add the names, dates and locations on them so you won’t forget. If they’re physical instead of digital ones, take the time to scan them to your computer or a flash drive so you have them forever. You can get more details on organizing your photos in this blog post: https://cherylosler.com/organizing-your-photos/

  9. Gather all the summer patio furniture and clean and store it and clean off your patio.

  10. Declutter a room or area of your house that has gotten out of hand during the summer.

So, there you go. Ten tips to start you on your Fall organizing program. Let me know if you have any others and if these were helpful to you.
